The Society for Renaissance Studies is a registered charity. As well as publishing research, organizing our biennial conference, and promoting the study of the Renaissance, the SRS supports scholarly activity at all stages by providing annual postdoctoral fellowships, conference support, public engagement awards, doctoral scholarships and support for students at the MA level. You can find out more about our financial support for scholars at all stages (here). SRS funding is currently dependent on two sources to support these: our share of annual income from our journal Renaissance Studies, and membership fees. In recent years’ we have considerably expanded our funding opportunities, adding new schemes for studentships at doctoral and masters' level. At the same time, we are committed to keeping our membership subscriptions easily affordable. The establishment of a general fund will allow us to receive donations and continue to expand our initiatives, especially those addressing hardship, diversity and inclusion. Through your generous donations, we will be able to provide targeted support for students, precariously employed academics and curators, and non-affiliated scholars working in the field of Renaissance Studies.

Note: We are a not-for-profit learned society run entirely by volunteers; we do not employ anyone to provide administrative support for our day-to-day activities and all donations will be used to enable the Society to continue supporting scholarly activity in the field of Renaissance studies. We do not currently have the resources to administer the collection of Gift Aid.
