Northern Early Modern Network Annual Conference

Newcastle, January 20, 2022 - January 21, 2022
Deadline for submission/application: October 31, 2021

We are pleased to announce that the second annual Northern Early Modern Network Conference will take place at Newcastle University on the 20th & 21st of January 2022.

We are inviting postgraduate research students from anywhere in the world studying the early modern period (1400-1800) to present a 20-minute paper on their research. The paper could be an overview of the project or one aspect of their research. Alternatively, papers on innovative research methodology in the field of early modern studies are also welcome.

Papers from any discipline are welcome.

We are delighted to confirm our two keynote speakers for the event are Dr Sara Barker (Leeds University) and Professor Alec Ryrie (Durham University).

The move to online platforms instead of in-person events has provided access to events that would have been inaccessible to PGRs for both geographical and financial reasons. In light of this, the conference will take place in a hybrid format – panels will include in-person and online presentations. The two-day event will also be streamed via an online platform.

We intend to publish the papers from the conference online via our website.

Please email a 250-word abstract, brief biography (max 100 words) and indicate whether you would prefer to present in person or online to l.smith28@newcastle.ac.uk
