Panelists include Martyn Bennett, Crawford Gribben, Andrew Hopper, Erin Murphy, Sarah Ross, Elizabeth Scott-Baumann, and Nigel Smith.

The three-day research symposium will mark the 400th anniversary of Hutchinson’s birth with an exploration of her life, sources, and methods. Papers will address Hutchinson’s literary, philosophical, and artistic interests; the history and circulation of her Memoirs; her interactions with local and national politics; and her connections to contemporary women writers. The symposium will include public viewings of Hutchinson’s manuscripts at the Nottinghamshire Archives.
