SRS Public Engagement Toolbox LIVE: The BBC/AHRC New Generation Thinkers Scheme

Online, August 6, 2021 -

In this live Public Engagement Toolbox conversation, the SRS’s Dr John Gallagher will be speaking with Dr Hetta Howes (City, University of London) and Dr Christina Faraday (University of Cambridge) about their experiences as part of the BBC/AHRC New Generation Thinkers programme. Each year, the BBC and the AHRC team up to work with ‘a new generation of academics who can bring the best of university research and scholarly ideas to a broad audience through the media and public engagement’. Applications for the 2022 scheme are now open with a deadline of 23rd September. Christina and Hetta will talk about the process of applying to the scheme, tips for potential applicants, and their experiences of being New Generation Thinkers, plus what the scheme has meant for their engagement and media work. There will be time for questions from our audience too!
