For the fifth consecutive year, the Medici Archive Project (MAP) will be offering a two-week intensive seminar on archival research.

Call for Chapters: Music, Myth, and Story in Medieval and Early Modern Europe

Throughout this period, stories about music found in classical mythology, ancient history, biblical episodes, bird-lore, and more contemporary anecdotes were all treated as foundations for musical knowledge (of moral or philosophical kind, if less frequently practical or theoretical).

Newman University PhD Scholarships

 

Newman University is delighted to invite applications for its latest Doctoral Studentship competition. As part of the University’s continued commitment to support the most promising researchers to undertake in-depth scholarship, applications are invited for a number of fully-funded PhD Studentships for three years (full-time) for UK or EU students.

 

The Studentship includes a subsistence grant in line with the recommendations of the UK research Councils (currently £13,863 p.a.) with all fees paid.

 

PhD Teaching Fellow, Department of History, University of Limerick: ‘Student Cultures in Early Modern Germany’

Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD stipend to support research on 'Student Cultures in Early Modern Germany'. Applicants should submit a research proposal defining a specific project that relates to and explores an aspect or aspects of this general theme. Viable areas for research might include but need not be restricted to the following: social mobility, elite formation, patronage, career expectations, urban interactions, lifestyles, ritual, deviance, violence, crime and punishment.
