A Conference in Honour of Evelyn Welch

Bush House Lecture Theatre 1, King’s College London

This one-day conference is being held to mark Professor Welch’s 60th birthday and to celebrate her contribution to art history and material culture studies. Bringing together scholars with whom Welch has worked and collaborated with over the years, the programme covers three main areas of her research interests, showing a trajectory through her career: consumption, fashion and textiles, and the body, skin and medicine. Confirmed speakers are: Bruno Blondé, Maria Hayward, Paula Hohti, Lesley Miller, Hannah Murphy, Ulinka Rublack, James Shaw, and Tessa Storey.

To reflect Welch’s longstanding interest in supporting early career researchers and acting as a mentor for many at the outset of and indeed further along in their careers, we are including a session for ECRs to deliver lightning talks on their research.

The full programme will be published in due course.

Free to attend but registration is essential:

Conference Co-convenors: Dr Natasha Awais-Dean and Dr Elizabeth Currie
