The Seventeenth Century Virtual Issue

30 articles with free access to mark the end of the journal’s 30th year

The interdisciplinary journal The Seventeenth Century celebrates the end of its 30th year by making free to access a selection of the outstanding articles that it has published since its foundation in 1986. Subject areas covered include social, ecclesiastical, intellectual and military history, literary analysis, women’s writing, textual and manuscript studies, art history, theology, philosophy, law, medicine, gender studies, the natural sciences, and colonial history. There is a particular focus on two of the journal’s most distinguishing features: interdisciplinary studies, and articles presenting primary documents that are newly discovered or significantly re-interpreted.
