Job Vacancy Assistant Professor, Renaissance Literature

 



The Department of English in the College of Arts & Science, University of Saskatchewan,invites applications for a three-year appointment in English Renaissance Literature at theAssistant Professor level, to begin July 1,2017.

 

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate classes in English RenaissanceLiterature, including Shakespeare, as well as introductory literature and composition courses forfirst-year students. The position could also entail leading honours and graduate seminars,undertaking graduate supervision, and participating in the administrative work of the Department. Acompleted or nearly-completed PhD is required, as is demonstrated ability in teaching, research,and publication. Located in the College of Arts and Science, the Department of English has twenty-fourpermanent faculty. The department provides undergraduate and graduate education in a variety ofsubject areas, with areas of concentration for graduate studies in Indigenous Literatures, CulturalStudies, Digital Studies, Canadian Literature, and Modernist Studies. English faculty collaborate withand teach in programs in Classical, Medieval, and Renaissance Studies (CMRS), Women’sand Gender Studies, Digital Culture and New Media, the MFA in Writing, and the Departmentof Drama. Salary Bands (July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017) Assistant Professor: $93,293 to$112,109
